Our Takeoff Process and Deliverables

How It Works

Step 1: Getting Started — Send Us Your Plans

Getting started is simple. Share your project drawings, plans, and specifications with us via email, Dropbox link, or any preferred file-sharing platform. We accept all standard formats, including PDF plans, CAD files, and supporting documents.

Along with the plans, you can include your scope of work, bid requirements, and any specific instructions to ensure our takeoff aligns with your expectations. If you have a preferred pricing format or cost database, feel free to share that as well.

Once we receive the documents, our team will review the scope and provide a quick turnaround time and quote so we can begin working on your project without delay.

Step 2: We Analyze & Prepare Your Takeoff and Estimate

After receiving your plans, our team carefully reviews and analyzes all project documents to ensure nothing is overlooked. We identify all quantities, dimensions, and materials required for each trade, including labor, equipment, and material considerations.

Using industry-standard methods and software tools, we prepare a detailed takeoff with accurate measurements, organized by trade, system, and material type. Based on these quantities, we generate a comprehensive cost estimate, factoring in unit labor rates, material prices, equipment usage, and any client-provided pricing guidance.

This step ensures that your estimate is thorough, reliable, and ready for use in bidding, budgeting, and project planning.

Step 3: Detailed Reports & Other Deliverables

  • Our deliverables include a detailed quantity takeoff report in an editable spreadsheet format (Excel), organized by trade, system, and material type. This allows for easy review, modification, and integration into your internal bidding workflows. Each line item is clearly structured with quantities, units, and cost breakdowns (labor, material, and equipment where applicable).

  • In addition to the estimate report, we provide color-coded marked-up drawings (PDF) highlighting all measured quantities. These annotated plans ensure full transparency, allowing you to visually verify takeoff quantities and understand exactly how the numbers were derived.
